This very small festival is a community gathering to celebrate spring and the blooming of the plum blossoms. It is held at the Kiotake History Museum and surrounding area where there is a main stage with various local junior high school dance performances, food stalls, and also some activities for children such as archery and karuta games. Foreigners can sign up to have a kimono / yukata dressing class before-hand and then after short introductions on stage can enjoy the festival wearing a yukata (浴衣).
