Exploring Miyazaki

Miyazaki is one of those idyllic places that is both fresh and mysterious; happening and steeped in ancient history.

Green and rich with natural beauty, Miyazaki is one of the oldest prefectures in Japan, and the place where a lot of the oldest myths and legends in Japanese lore and culture come from. A full 12% of the entire prefecture is designated as natural parkland, and hikers can get their fill of the scenery.

Miyazaki folk are exceptionally kind and generous. Don’t be surprised by random acts of incredible generosity, carefree hospitality, and the touching kindness of strangers!

If you’re coming here to work and stay for a while, make sure to get your fill of Miyazaki’s uncounted sights. Every little town has its own quirks and specialties. Almost every other weekend you can go celebrate at any one festival and enjoy great food, great atmosphere, and quite probably, a boatload of fireworks!

From Nobeoka in the north to Kushima in the south, there is enough to see, enjoy and love in our sunny prefecture to last a lifetime!
