Spreading Holiday Cheer in Miyazaki!

On December 23rd, in Ichibangai, a number of bubbly volunteers gathered on a rather chilly afternoon to spread warmth and festive cheer to Miyazaki City folk. There were plenty of activities on offer like cookie decorating, face painting, performances, pictures with Santa and Santarina, and many more.

Previously, the the market had been held in Ichibangai, but it had been moved elsewhere the last couple of years. Much to the delight of random passers by, the market took place in the city once again! Santa and Santarina were a hit with the kids and many took the opportunity to pose for a photo and delighted in receiving in a gift from Santa. A number of workshop elves helped kids and adults alike to decorate (and eat) Christmas cookies. It’s hard to say who enjoyed it more!

Towards the end of the event, the workshop elves took to the stage to sing a few Christmas songs and even got a few people in the audience to sing along. Thanks goes to Jon for providing the accompaniment and all the other ALTs for bringing their big voices!

Thanks to everyone for their support leading up to the event and for all those that helped out on the day. Many people were complimenting us after the event and we are so glad that we could be a part of the community, even if it was only for a few hours. Hope to see you all at the next Christmas Market. Here’s a wonderful and successful 2017!
