On a Deserted Island: MAJET and KAJET’s Shipwrecked Adventure!

The autumn equinox has come and passed, and now it is October. While the heat may hang around for a while yet, it’s time to say goodbye to our dear friend, summer. But not without one final adventure!

MAJET and KAJET teamed up to organize a joint beach party at beautiful Ajiro Beach near Makurazaki, Kagoshima. This beach is only accessible by ferry, with only a distant lighthouse to remind you of civilization. The water is clear and cool and full of fish and coral to explore!

We arrived around noon and took turns taking the ferry to our destination. We spent the afternoon grilling, swimming, and snorkeling to our hearts’ content! There were a few jellyfish encounters, but we survived. 😉

As the sun began to set and the tide began to rise, the ferry arrived to rescue us for our island paradise and take us back to the mainland. From there, we headed over to Hinokami Park to set up our tents.

Several of us went exploring and found an onsen nearby, while others remained at the campground, chatting and tackling the nearby Pokemon gym. We started up the grills again for dinner, and when everyone had returned we spent the rest of the evening playing games.

Eventually it was time to call it a night and we all retired to our tents, the sounds of the ocean lulling us to sleep.

The sun woke us bright and early, and we said goodbye to our KAJET friends and went our separate ways. It was a truly fantastic way to end the summer!
