Miyazaki’s mountains are truly marvelous

Miyazaki’s only autumn colors belong to a variety of subtropical flowers which somehow manage to bloom, and to the trees and foliage which only become slightly less green even in the cold winter months. However, if you were to venture up into the mountains in the west of the prefecture, you would find vibrant patches of vermillion interspersed with swathes of gold gilding the mountainside—along with the usual vast expanse of deep forest greens. Volunteers Needed for the Miyazaki International Festival!

Good morning everyone! Are you looking for ways to participate in local events? The Miyazaki International Foundation is looking for foreigners to participate in this year’s Miyazaki International Festival on Saturday, November 21st.

For this event, they are now collecting entries for Art festival (photography, paintings/drawings, calligraphy, handmade crafts, and others) and looking for participants to participate in the Japanese Speech Contest and/or to put on a Stage performance (dance, music, and so on). Continue reading
