This blog entry has been updated to reflect details about the rescheduled 2018 Ice Skating event, which will now occur on February 4th.
Sleigh bells ring
are you listening
In the lane
snow is glistening
A beautiful sight
we’re happy tonight
Skating in a winter wonderland
In Ebino, we can skate like pros
And pretend that we’re Michelle Kwan
Hyuna-chan will say
let’s go for onsen
Then we’ll soak all night
amidst the snow
The perfect winter is a mix of hot and cold: curling up next to the fire, snowball fights, and hot chocolate. With that in mind, we’d love to invite you all to Miyazaki’s perfect mix of hot and cold. The Ebino Plateau in winter is absolutely breathtaking. Often blanketed in Japan’s famous powdered snow, it’s the perfect scene for MAJET’s first event of the year, and an annual favourite, Winter Wonderland in Ebino!
Meet us at Ebino Highlands Skating Rink for ice skating, hot ramen, and curry, then chase the cold away with a long dip in Ebino’s famous onsens!

Lunch
Everyone is reponsible for their own lunch at the ice rink. There is a cafe selling udon, ramen, curry, and potato chips inside the venue and various restaurants scattered around the surrounding area.
Onsen
Ebino is famous for it’s onsens and and there just happens to be one right next to the skating rink that we can enjoy afterwards! We highly recommend a long soak in the steaming onsen to finish off a lovely winter adventure.
Transportation and Parking
Unfortunately, there is no public transportation to the venue so please plan accordingly. The closest train station is Ebino Station, a 30 minute drive from the skating rink. If you’ll be needing a lift, please make a note of it on your RSVP form. Once we know who needs a lift and who is offering one, we’ll post a frequently updated list on the facebook event page. However, MAJET is not responsible for organising transportation. Waiting until the week of the event to organise a lift is not recommended.
Parking is 500円. If you visit the onsen after, the price is an additional 500円.
RSVP
To attend this event, please RSVP via the google form by Wednesday, January 31st to receive the discounted rate. Be sure to fill in your shoe size (in cm) as well, so the skating rink can prepare our skates ahead of time.
Whether your skating prowess looks like this…

..we’re looking forward to meeting you on the ice this winter!
