Planning and organizing events is hard work! And sometimes we have to account for unexpected occurrences. However, each event is a learning process which helps us to make the next ones better!

2024 Event Summaries

Takachiho

MAJET organized an event with Takachiho High School for new JET members in Miyazaki Prefecture. MAJET joined hands with the students at the High School to promote Takachiho Town and its culture. 

On the trip, JETS visited Takachiho for a weekend. On Saturday, they met with the students for a tour of Takachiho Gorge and the history of the area. Then, they got the chance to eat a local specialty, Sumibiyaki. After dinner, they got the chance to go to the local shrine and watch a Kagura performance at night. 

On Sunday, they woke up early and went up a mountain to watch the sunrise over the famous Sea of Clouds, Kunimigaoka. Later that same day, they took a tour around Amanoiwato shrine and visited Aratate Shrine where they got to hit wooden slabs with hammers. Finally, they took the Amaterasu Train to get a beautiful view of the countryside.
