Website Updates- Come check out what your Comms Team has been working on!

Its summertime again, which for ALTs usually means lots of time sitting around at your desk not really doing much of anything… Unless you’re on the MAJET Communications Team, that is!

This summer, we’ve been working hard to update the website with new and refreshed content to make it your best source of information on all things Miyazaki! It is still very much a work in progress, so we apologize for the mess. However, there are a few things we’ve finished that we wanted to share with you! Continue reading

Volunteer at this year’s Sea Festa in Miyazaki!

*For information in Japanese, please click here

Sea Day (海の日) is coming, that lone public holiday in the long, hot month of July. It’s a day this island nation sets aside to show its gratitude and respect for the sea, and lots of people go to the beach. Why not join us there the day before?

On Sunday, July 17th, a group of friendly MAJETers are going to Sun Beach Hitotsuba (map) in Miyazaki City to volunteer at an event called Sea Festa (海フェスタ). This event started years ago to help encourage people with muscular dystrophy.  This year, event coordinators are expecting over 120 people to come—some are blind, some have brain injuries, and some have physical impairments. Our job is to help them enjoy the sea as much as we do! Continue reading

Let’s Support Kumamoto!

Good morning, MAJETers

Buildings have crumbled, roads have collapsed, even Kumamoto Castle has suffered damage as a result. But it’s not just the structures, it’s what they represent. Those buildings were homes; those roads were access to food, shelter, friends, and family; the castle is an important piece of cultural history. And none of these things can even compare to the loss loved ones and friends.

Let us all take a moment to think about those who have been affected. Continue reading

Or, maybe you just want to work on your management skills and build up your resume?

The time has finally come for the Fifth Annual Amazing Race Miyazaki! This is one of our biggest events of the year. Some of you may already be familiar with the American TV show, The Amazing Race. This year, each Quest and their Clues are inspired by the world of video games, both old school and new. So hit your local arcade and get yourself ready to play. Continue reading
